Based on the popular 2003 film starring Jack Black, the musical School Of Rock opened on Broadway in December 2015. Written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Glenn Slater, the musical tells the story of aspiring rock star Dewey Finn who, through a case of mistaken identity, ends up working as a substitute teacher at the prestigious Horace Green School where he transforms the children's lives by introducing them to rock music.
The musical gained high praise from critics and has received nominations for four Tony Awards, as well as the Drama League Award and Outer Critics Circle Award.
