Anatol Lyadov (1855-1914) was a Russian composer, conductor, teacher, and collector and arranger of folk songs. Although he wrote few large-scale works, he composes numerous piano miniatures which – many imbued with a quiet melancholy while others revealing a vein of delicate humour – abound in lyrical charm. Eighteen of these are collected in this book, part of ABRSM’s Easier Piano Pieces series, to provide varied moderate to difficult repertoire for the pianist.
