Kevin Burke , The Solo Albums

This book of transcriptions has been published by Kevin and Loftus Music in response to numerous requests from fiddlers worldwide. Of particular interest to many players will be the faithful representations of Kevin’s unique bowing style. Kevin enlisted the help of fellow musician, Betsy Branch, to accurately notate the bowings exactly as heard on the recordings – “I was very impressed that Betsy had a clearer idea of what I was doing with the bow than I had myself!”. With special attention to clarity and ease of use (thanks to Shannon Zilka for the beautiful design and layout) all the tunes from Kevin’s iconic recording , “If the Cap Fits”, are included in the book in the same sequence as the record as well as the music from his 3 other early solo records – Sweeney’s Dream, Up Close and In Concert. Complete with pictures and anecdotes, this long awaited collection also contains, as a special bonus 10 of Kevin’s own compositions.
