Give yourself a goal and then go for it.

One of the best ways to continue to play music is to play with other people. Not only does it encourage you but it helps you learn. It is surprising how possible this is even at a very basic level. Whether joining a choir, an Irish slow session, a group of people of similar skills level, your local pub music group or a group course in a school, all of these will help you along your musical journey. It of course is a scary moment to try and play the first time in front of other people. But guess what, all of the other people either had to do the same at some stage and survived the experience. Every musician in the world has been scared during their first “public” performance but once you get over the nerves you have opened the road to a beautiful journey that you will never regret starting.
